Well I picked up my Kit today Lets Go Build a MARDAVE V12 |
|
Right here is lets go first things first this is what it looks like when you get it
When you get inside the box it looks like this all the parts you need remember this is a very simple Kit ....
Got an extra wheel with the Super 7 Kit for a spare but its the same as the ones on the car BONUS :D
The shell for a limited time only is made of Imatation Carbon Fiber check it out ,,, Needs cutting though the front wheel archs are suppled separate
Well on to the instruction manual  It says " THE FOLLOWING IS THE SUGGESTED SEQUENCE OF ASSEMBLY "
The Build will start tomorow with any LUCK :D

Well the build started today and finished today well nearly this is how it went
Stage by stage It is very simple but you do need to know a bit about R/C cars first as the manual is very vague in parts giving you part numbers etc but none of the parts are labled
First I started where the manual suggested with the front end suspention this is simple But quite HARD to get the top E-Clip on to hold the spring in place
Note as this is the first time I have built a Mardave I felt I should build it as per the manual to start with then make the sugested alterations to improve its performance
If you turn the Suspention arm over you lower the ride hight :D & also by adding a spacer under the front of the arm gives the front end some Caster improving the car handling ( you will see later I did do this as I needed the spacer there to be able to cut the shell correctly )
I Then deviated from the manual and installed the servo as it made sence to me to finish the front befor starting the back & I also installed the front Body Post at this stage as well
The steering is very primative and would be the first thing I would Upgrade if I was a Mardave Racer ( Which I am Not )
In this Photo you can clearly see that you would lower the front Ride hight if you turned the suspention arm over .. :D

Its time to start the build on the rear of the car, This is nearly as simple as the front end
First you Screw the pivit ball to the centre of the chassie followed by the 2 long bolts that will hold the rear shocks in place & the central post which will later hold the rubber gromet which you can adjust the rear suspention by tightening it down or changing this gromet .....
You then screw the rear bulkhead motor mount together and screw this to the chassie clipping it onto the pivot ball fitted to the chassie ....
when the bulkhead is cipped onto the ball stud you can then fit the rear springs making sure they are wound down evenly :D .... Next comes the centre post which you fit the rubber gromet round
Then the rear Axel can be fitted along with the motor ( Its starting to look like a kit now )
Next you need to cut out the battery tray and bolt this to the chassie Nice and simple this stage and when its done the car Kit is basicaly done finished apart from the Shell and the Electrics
To be contionued ....

The first picture shows the front arm lifted up at the front with a Tamiya spacer to give it caster to improve handling
The following one is the complete car with Electrics in
And a Picture of the car with the shell fitted Not the greatest i will post a better one when i have taken a better photo outside !!!!
I have got 1 coat of white paint on the driver at this stage
