What is the best charger for Lipo ???

My Old Duratrax Ice which is a very good charger will charge Lipo at 4.9 amps  ( Not bad for a $99 charger )

And the BANTAM which i purchesed from Modeltech is very good also & easy to use ........

So what is everyone using now.
Trev did I see you using a CORE charger.

Looks like Li po's for xmas so I probably need two chargers in case I run buggy & TC so don't want expensive ones.
So what do people recommend

Yep I do have the CORE but its not as good as the Bantam , It may be better for the cells but it takes longer to charge them ...........

The Bantam with the TrackPower Balance lead is great .........

Loads of People use the one Galaxy sell with no problems GreyFox could tell you the model number and price ........

I went for the Core because it looked good and it is, just not as fast as the Bantam BUT the Demon DLC5000 Charger is supposed to be great to NOT sure if it does Ni-hm and Ni-cad cells

Demons is £35
Core is £54
Bantam + Balance is £ 83

So for all round if the Demon does not do Ni-hm and Ni-cad the Core is best value for money but you would need a couple of extra leads which don't come with it ( Demon sell these just let Nick know what you want to charge and he can supply what you need .................

HTH

Others opinions please .............. Help Bring Baz into 2009  q2

p.s I would like to State I have been using the Bantam + TrakPower leads for 12 months now on my 2 packs of Trak-Power 4900 Lipos and I would say they are as good today as they were when I bought them ............................

Not bothered about them charging Nimh as I will probably keep my pro-track as the discharging function doesn't work and it's not worth spending the £65 odd to get it repaired, as the it seems to blow the discharge fets very easily q11
but yes brushless for the rest of the year q3 Li po's for next year q12
Blimey I'll be right upto date  q27

The charger I use is the one from Galaxy Models - I think it's the J Perkins Lipro plus charger - as it has a built-in balancing function so you can charge normally at meetings and then balance charge at home prior to each meeting. John will also provide the lead you need for the charger as it comes with all sorts of leads bar the one we use!
Think it cost around £50 minus any discount you may be able to obtain.
It works absolutely well and I've had no problems with it. It also has capability to charge NiMH, NiCd and Pb batteries as well if necessary.

I use the Orion Advantage Carbon as they are often available quite cheep on fleabay.

And the Trakpower balance lead now and again to ensure it's all healthy.
