E4 so farWell then time for a report on the E4 and how I've been getting on with it.
The original E4 that I run on Tarmac is running well, nice and smooth with conistant lap times, I have broken so far front steel drive shafts, couple of front hubs and that is it.... A touch disapointed with the drive shaft issue but never mind, I spose coming from the blue side where I never broke a drive shaft it is a bit gauling. I have now swapped over to the new 7075 drive shafts and time will tell if they cure the problem or not. However I find the car nicely balanced and very very chuckable on Tarmac.
On carpet well I started off with the original E4 and then moved onto the E4FS, I just could not get on with this car the setup and the way the car handled rubber carpet was not for me, the car was a large handfull and very difficult to drive. Reverted back to an original E4, while the setup is still a continueing debate at the club with most drivers unable to handle the car, it is very very quick, on Sunday the car set the fastest lap of the day (with me driving it) and was good enough to qualify 3rd on the grid in the A, and get a 2nd and a 3rd place which was enough for me to win the winter championship.. High five me!!!
The only real changes that I have made to the car are the additions of alloy rear hubs (both cars) Alloy centre brace (carpet car) Alloy centre shaft mount (Tarmac car), new low friction pulleys (both cars).
I would thoroughly recomend this car to anyone, however on the caveat that it is not the strongest car out there, but it certainly is on the money in the speed department.
And finaly when asked on Monday night would I go back to the Blue side, my firm answer was NO!!!!
