Eastbourne Trip 2008

Hi all names below please of who wants to join us on the trip down Saturday Morning leaving the Layby at the Total Garage on the side of the A12 at Marks Tey Colchester

8.30am Leave time
wrighty

Me
Greyfox

8.30!!!

Oh alright - me as well.
Jimbo

Ill be there! Just hope that ive got my car back and not go the panda!!!

What are we doing for BBQs, food and beer?

Ive got a few disposiable BBQs which i picked up from work or I could get a cheepo one to cook off.
admin

I think George is sorting a BBQ out I am sure he will let us know  :D

I Think it would be a good Idea if we all brought our own stuff to Chuck on the BBQ not saying you can't bring more but if we all bring our own we will be making sure there is enough to go round

Same goes for Beer / Wine / Cider ( No Spirits Please we don't want this to turn into a drunken Weekend now do we ) But again bring more than you expect to drink your self so there is enough in case people under estamate how much they want

Any more suggestions fire away ......
wrighty

i will be in the buss so if anyone is tight on space or wants a ride just shout and we can sort something out
admin

Is that the bus with a VERY VERY LARGE PIPE sticking out the rear
No. 46

My BBQ may have to wait til the next time. Sorry Chaps. My materials supplier hasn't come up with the goods as yet so i am still waiting to get started. It has been well planned though.

Wrighty - Do you still need any corally spares. i still have a fair few bits.
Jimbo

Well I can pick up a small ish BBQ from work for less than a tenner! Its nothing fancy but should hold up to a bashing for a few days food! Let me know what you lot think and ill grab one tomoro!
admin

Jim it needs to be big enough to cook for 5 people at least the £10 BBQ would struggle to get 4 sausages on it LOL

Can you get a deal on one of the Oblong ones about 2 foot long  :D  about £15 to the public i belive

You could always DENT a display model to get it cheap

I need somthing LARGE to cook my RUMP STEAK ON lol
Jimbo

well i reckon with the cheep one and the disposiable 2 that I have we should be fine! its not that small about the size of a dustbin lid i would say!
admin

COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

can you get the charcoal cheap too ??????? Lighters and lighter fluid
wrighty

The bus may still have the gay jap pipe on

Greyfox

Whilst I'm hopeing that I'll get in to the TC3 class as 1st reserve if it doesn't happen does anyone have a 6.5 brushless that I might be able to borrow to compete in TC1 for the benefit of the club?
Jimbo

I think that it might be worth speaking to Cam if hes around. Hes not coming along due to the nationals I think so he may have a motor that hes willing to lend you.
Greyfox

Thanks Jim.
Have had a pm from Cam already, so just trying to sort out how I can collect it from him.
Might still not need it but if I have it to hand I should then be able to swap classes on the Sunday morning at Eastbourne.

I'm in the wrong job, as I was thinking more about Tesco'c value burgers!
But seriously I'm sure we will all bring our own meat and drink for the BBQ, but between us we could arrange to bring such things as salad, coleslaw, bread etc. If we each agree to bring one extra thing we could have a real feast on our hands.
admin

I think what the Grey Fox has suggested will work well , we can discuss it Sunday at Snetterton
Greyfox

I won't be at Snetterton on Sunday, but let me know what everyone wants to bring along and I'll gladly get something to compliment what we have available.
Jimbo

Yes like wise here! Let me know what people are bringing and I shall add to the feast!

Did u still want me to bring a BBQ as i may have to drop one at work to get it on the cheep!
admin

I am going to do my Famous Colslaw its fantastic belive me not like the cheap stuff you get from the supermarkets Home Made and good  :D  :D

Yes Jim we need a Big BBQ for sure Drop one and rip a bag of coal while you are at it

so with the colslaw taken care of who else is bringing what ???????????
wrighty

I have a largeish bbq if u want me to bring it its like this

Greyfox

I'll bring a home-made Florida cocktail then.
Jimbo

Might be a better idea mate! Saves having to build it when we get there! Ill still bring the coal though as we got loads of the stuff here!

Ill double up on the rolls then ill get both burger buns and hot dog rolls. How many of us are going?
admin

I take it you are going to buy Burgers and Sausages to go into the rolls also
Jimbo

I wasnt so sure on buying them i was gonna raid the freezer on saturday morning to see what i can find! But there will be sausages and burgers from me. Will also be bringing a bit of salad stuff as well!

and ill get a set of cooking stuff for the BBQ sorted.

Just need to remember where i left my tent  :?
Greyfox

I've changed my mind!
I'll bring along a very nice home-made potato salad and a large french stick for us all to share.

By the way I've just put the post-code of the track into Sat Nav and it only takes 2hrs 20mins from my home (and don't forget that assumes a steady speed of only 60mph), so it is only going to be 2 hours tops from where we are meeting.
Do you think we could meet a little later at between 9.00-10.00 as we will still be there by lunch-time?
admin

Fine by me Ian If you are sure of the times you can be leader  :D

Shall we change the time to 10.00 am at colchester then If everyone is in agreement
Jimbo

10 in the morning is fine with me as long as we dont go off at 90mph. I have now got rid of the panda and they have given me a 1.2lt corsa. Its a little faster but i dont think it will cope with those speeds.

My car wont be ready for at least another week

Ps from what i can remember there is quite a length of single carriage way roads to travel along which slow things down quite a lot through the villages
Greyfox

We'll keep the speeds down to the legal speed limit then officer!
Even if it takes 2.5 hours we'll still be there by 12.30, in time for a bite to eat, pitch up tents etc. and still have loads of practice during the afternoon.
I can also lie in for an extra hour on Saturday morning!!
wrighty

Jimbo

your more than welcome to jump on with me im not taking mine its in bits but have a gold buss to take
markw

we will be there early afternoon leaving bout 11 as dad got to work in the moring. can someone save us a space if poss please... c u all sat
No. 46

People are more than welcome to jump in with me or i could share with somebody else if possible. Either way i don't mind. For what its worth does anybody know the weather forecast for the weekend.
markw

Little Mac

Are you guys sure you're just going racing?

There seems to be lots of offers of jumping in and on each other...............!

CAMPing as well.

I really think you should take some womenfolk just in case someone gets the wrong idea.

Kenny.

PS have a great time and score lots of points. Watch out for traffic going through Tunbridge Wells. If your sat nav sends you that way, find another route! We spent an hour just getting through the town. It's not a good place on a Saturday morning.
admin

Hope you get in as a reserve for stock Ian as there is only 1 place left in Mod  :(  which is not good If you are not needed as a reserve for stock
Sams Old Man

I think you'll find you will be in Ian as your booking will take preference over others who are booked in for less than 6 rounds!! :D
markw

has anyone seen the weather its not looking good heavy rain  :x

Greyfox

And if I don't get to race on Sunday I won't care - I'll just carry on drinking !!
admin

Greyfox
