SEN GP2009 SEN GRAND PRIX SERIES
1:10 OFF-ROAD 2WD & 4WD CHAMPIONSHIPS
(a CMCRC / LBC Collaboration)
The aim of the S.E.N. Grand Prix series is to put the fun and 'racing' back into 1:10 Off-Road Racing.
The only criteria for entry is that you live and/or are a member of a club within Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk, and of the BRCA.
The series will consist of a championship for both classes (2wd & 4wd), both of which will be run on the same day.
However, drivers will only be permitted to run in one class at each round (it will be up to the individual to decide which class he/she wants to enter and whether to stick with one class throughout the series or alternate). This is to deter the same 3 or so drivers 'hogging' both competitions, thus spreading the trophies and prize money.
Entry fee will be £5 per round, payable on the day.
Booking-in will be done via the SEN Grand Prix website*, and will be open until 3pm on the day before (Saturday) each event.
* A link to the website will be set-up when booking-in for the first round commences.
The Series will be run over 6 rounds, with the best 4 rounds to count and trophies awarded to the overall
top 3 in each class plus prize money to the top 6 as follows:
1st £150, 2nd £125, 3rd £90, 4th £50, 5th £45 & 6th £40.
Initially, each round will be limited to 48 entries in total.
How it all works
At each Round each driver will have 6 qualifying races plus one Final.
Each race will consist of 6 cars, and of x number of laps (approx. 4 - 4 and a half mins.).
Points will be awarded for each race as follows: 1st-5; 2nd-4; 3rd-3; 4th-2; 5th-1; 6th/dnf-0.
After the completion of the qualifying heats, the top 6 scorers will contest the "A" Final, next 6 the "B", and so on.
Grid positions for each final will be decided on qualifying scores, i.e. highest scorer grid 1, etc.
If two or more drivers finish on equal points, then the number of race wins, seconds, etc. will decide the placings.
There will be no dropped scores - every race counts!
Further points will be awarded for the Finals as follows:
"A" Final: 1st-20, 2nd-18; 3rd-17; 4th-15; 5th-14; 6th-13.
"B" Final: 1st-12, 2nd-11, 10, 9, 8, 7.
"C" Final: 1st-6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
In the Finals drivers must come under starter's orders and pass the restart line under power to secure their due points.
Failure to do so will result in 0 points.
Qualifying points + Finals points = Overall position = points towards the Grand Prix Series.
The driver who accumulates the most points from his/her best 4 Round scores will be declared the
winner of that particular class.
NO MOTOR OR WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS. LIPOS ALLOWED!
