need help with my mre
need it to turn in quicker. have got my steering punch on the transmitter at 70 and i fell it still it dose not turn in quick enough
front springs yellow oil 40
rear springs yellow oil 40
standard roll bars front and rear
1.5 camber front
2.0 camber rear
0-0.5 positive front toe angle
any advice welcome

I know this may seem a silly question but how quick is your servo If I use my fastest one my car will obviously turn in real quick and I mean Real Quick but if I put my second fastest one in ( Still a quick Servo ) I can tell the difference and the turn in will be slower .....

I will post my MRE setup for you later although I think it is still Kit which works great :D

Hi Ben, what hole on the hub is the steering link connected to the forward or the rear hole, this does affect the steering rate loads, if you want to make the car turn in quicker use the rear hole, for slower turn in the front hole.

well trev are servo is a futaba s9550 and the turning speed is 0.11 have found some other servos that are 0.07 and 0.08 for turning speed would 0.04 or 0.03 make that much of a difference
leight we are running kit setup using front hole in hubs (i think) i will get my dad to change it to the back one

Yep my 2 servos are 0.3 apart and what a difference it makes i think my fast one is 0.08 and its much much faster than my 0.11 sounds silly i know as they are both Fast But it makes a difference to me ........

If you are suggesting it is under-steering off power coming into a corner then think about:-
Softening the front spring first of all
Stiffening the rear spring secondly.

My set-up which I used at Southend in the dry car was:-
Blue front spring, 35wt AE shock oil - Number 2 hole on shock mount - one dgree camber
Yellow rear spring 20wt Schumacher shock oil - Number 2 hole on shock mount - 2 degree camber
Front hole on steering arm
6.5mm ride height all round
Toe out one degree front, three degree toe in rear.
Steering servo is a Futabe 9451.

Don't forget that your speed controller may effect the speed of the steering servo, as it depends whether it is one that gives out 4.8v or 6v to the receiver.

Ive always found that running cars with a little bit of front tow out often makes the initial turn in much better. But be sure to only use a little bit (0.5 - 1 deg) as it also makes the car twitchy at speed.

Don't know if the caster blocks can be changed, but running less caster will increase the turn in, something I have used on the MSX
