Be Carful with the Stock Spec ESC and the SPX if you get the gearing Wrong it will Blow the Motor
Aparently a lot of the Motors are Blowing because as we are lead to belive the ESC Increases the Timing as the Rotor Speed Builds Up , Which is why they are so fast BUT in a High Speed crash if you are FLAT OUT & you get all 4 wheels airbourn which we have all done and you keep your thumb on the power , with No load on the motor this is when its going to blow as the ESC tries to put even more power in and BANG ............... This is what I am lead to belive from what i have read on this subject ...........
A Motor can only go so fast which is why I am sticking with a Top ESC Not going for one that will kill motors at the slightest mistake .........
Also aparently you need to gear the motors different when running the Stock Spec & SPX ESC , If they are geared as we would for the old Matrix ITSC again BANG is a very possable outcome ...............
Good Luck to all who run the Stock Spec ESC we can keep a motor count below
Big Dave Brimly 3 motors in one meeting
Mr B 2 motors in one meeting |
how do u no the pearl wont do the same thing as it got the same software in it ....

Always a chance. We are gearing at 5.6 at CMCC when we were on about 5.0.
I did 3 motors last year at West London and that was with the TC Spec LRP.
Just think,Brooklands in 3 weeks time. I'd better go get some motors in.
5.6 is that running a 10.5 or 13.5. r u at southend 2moro???
thanks

Having had good weather today for a real test it was off to Snetterton to give it a blast and I have to say on low settings it was Fast and controlable ! On the top profile it was way way faster and made the back end unstable , not undrivable but it was hard work .......
I would say my new magic box works well , I am very happy with my purchase

It was a 10.5 But I don't do lap times , I just go in the look and the lines I take .......
If that makes sence , you know when it's quick of when it's slow ......
