Well another Club meet went very very well for the Cyclone

Its its 10th meeting I think now & still Nothing Broken at all FANTASTIC , its taken some big crashes and nothing has broken Even Jim had a drive Sunday and crashed bad twice & nothing got broke or bent at all GREAT , To Win first you need to FINISH and this is what the Cyclone does every time ,,,,,,,,, Yes I have failed to finish a couple or 3 times but this has been down to my Electrics or Soldering NOT the car .................

In one Qualiy run I beat Ben Reyment this is something I have never done before and sent my confidence sky high although I know it was down to my motor being so much quicker and at the end of quali I was only 7 seconds behind BEN Fantastic
Having said that I needed to keep it on the Black stuff as well so my driving must be going in the right direction also ..........................

Having Breathed LIFE back into 3 older sets of SSB's with what can only be described as Illegal Tyre Additive as thats what it is, & checked over the Cyclone its ready for a Secret test session at Snetterton some time this week ready for the Weekend I don't really need a Test session BUT with the possablity of the track being run in reverse It makes sence to run it in reverse in a whole days test session just in case !!!!!!!!!!!

With my new SSB's arriving in the post today I am all set and with what can only be discribed as the Fastest 13.5 avalable the Orion 2008 I am confident going into the weekend ...................

Well where to Start lots of stuff has happened since my last Entry Ill keep it short and simple

The Test Day at Snetterton went very well and I came away from it very happy with my car Except I was still getting slight Glitching of the Electrics ,, But It was Fast and thats what counted , The STCC at Snetterton was that weekend and my Runs were all bar a couple full of Glitching I ended Up 10 in the A Final after 3 DNF's in the Finals due to interference problems But on the upside I made the A which was my goal

And I came away feeling good as I had lent my Spare car to Team Sanders as there SD was Very Sick and Paul put it to Good use finishing 4th in the last A Final and posting the Quickest lap time of that Final with it also ....... Great Job Paul ......

Then I had a Club meet at Coastal which again was not great , well it could have been if i had not had the interference again ...... Enough was Enough having changed all the electrics on my car and Sold what would turn out to be a perfectly good motor which I thought may have been causing my problems when it draged on the ground I Sent back my Electric Speed Controler as It had to be the problem and sure enough it was Nosram sent me a brand new one by return post saying my Speedo was FAULTY ( Great Service From Nosram ).........

So Today with the New ESC installed I felt I had better get out there and Try it so a short trip down to Colchester and Yes the car was Flying going great with a new motor in also FANTASTIC MOTOR the new Losi Exceleron geared at what Losi recomended as I did not want to overheat it ,,, It could have gone faster If I had gone up 4 more pinions which I would have done if it had been a proper Race Meet , That is not to say we were not racing we were and armed with my 13.5 I showed everyone bar one person the way round although he was running 10.5 & behind me there was people running 6.5 as well as other 13.5 runners

If I had geared the motor to what I wanted to instead of being concervative I would had got a 20 Lap time easy , but not wanting to overheat it I played it safe geared at only 4.55 If it had been the STCC I would have geared it at 3.7

Well with a Club meet at Coastal next weekend then off to the KO GP at West London the following weekend I had better get things sorted out on the spare car incase its needed as When a possibly new recrute to the Hot Bodies family drove it this afternoon it suffered from bad interference on turn 3 on a number of different laps

This Is a very short Blogg Update as I have just got home from the KO in London having spent 3 days away from my family & we are off on Holiday first thing tommorow morning .........

I will update this in more detail next week ...........

Short Story is all 4 of us Coastal Drivers who entered in the 13.5 Brushless class made the A final which was Great ........................

Cam who was in the Mod class up against the Best in the Country made the C final which he was very pleased about & in my opinion he deserved to win the C final BUT he had bad luck in the first corner in all 3 of his finals , Not his fault but when cars spin in front of you thats it if you hit them well good night at this level ..........

I would like to say Cam has come of age over the last couple of meetings I have seen him race in and I am sure he will get there next season ( he has the Skill I am sure )

Team Coastal Photo Cam is missing he had left before we got Pauls and Bens POTS

We made some New friends this weekend also including BIG O as we called him he was very frienly and happy to talk Great Meeting him very nice Person .........

When he left our Pit area we told H who he had just been talking to for the last 30 mins

Well The 2009 Blog Starts Here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ill try to keep this one going this year if I can , as I am taking it easy this year and supporting my local club rather than going here there and everywhere .........

Ill Start by saying I have had some serius problems with my Car of late , well the last 5 or 6 meetings or so .......... its been realy hard to drive fast , loosing the back end all the time , So I thought the only way to sort it out was to start again from scratch , So I did , I took my car apart right back to how it came in the box origanaly Last Year ( although I did not build it last year Nick at Demon built it for me ) . So I had all the components in front of me ready to rebuild my car , I looked though the parts to see what needed changing , what was worn etc .........

Then Started the Rebuild and replaced all the worn parts , Front drive shafts & Both Belts all the bearings thoughout & a new rear diff complete , Reshimmed the car and WOW its like new again , especialy with all the shimms and spacers removed taking the car back to total KIT FORM , Got it handles better now than it did when I got it though the post from Nick as he had put a setup on it for me ..................

Can't wait to give it a real race Sunday to give it a real shake down befor the last round of Numb Nuts which I need to Win to retain my title as Numb Nuts Champion 2008/2009

& the Mini is sorted out now as well & with added lights it looks cool as well as going great , I did so many laps today I did a set of tyres !!!!!!!!!!! I just could not stop myself from driving it it was so good ....................

Well for those of you who saw me racing last time out at Coastal know I went very well indeed with what turned out to be a totaly New Car from the one I spoke of in the above post .................

When I was offered an X Team drivers Cyclone TC at a very good price I had to buy it , I could not let it get away , and I am glad I did not let it get away as at its first outing at Coastal I got

A Final Win

So with every thing going well I decided to strip the electrics out of my Buggy to fit into my old Cyclone Worlds Edition and put as close a setup on it as possable to copy the setup off the Cyclone TC ..................

The Electrics are different my TC has a Nosram ISTC ESC & the Cyclone has a Losi Exceloron ESC in it , Servos are on par with each other .........

With Back to Back testing today Both Cars were Fantastic The TC has a more planted rear end ( so there is a slight difference ) Thats for sure ........

The only other difference that I found out today is that the Losi ESC has much better Breaks when you turn them up over the more Expencive Nosram , although the Nosram had much better Punch out of the corners ...........

Last round of Numb Nuts Sunday with a win needed to retain my title it will be an important day for sure

Time for a Quick update as i have a little time to relax ( After a Bank Holiday Weekend of Decorating , Plastering & Second Fixing my Diningroom & Bathroom ) ,

Well Numb Nuts went well , I did enough to retain my title by coming 3rd on the day , It was Hard to keep up with the New SPX BABY ESC in some cars and the 6.5 motors in others But it was a great day of close racing and a lot of Fun was Had by all .................

As for Club racing its all good with the New Car as on the Last 2 Championship meetings I have Put it on Pole , Had the Days Quickest Lap and Track Records , So all good and the confidence is going from strenth to strenth

The New Lipo I am Running Now is a 3800 35C Demon Pack and its great light weight , looks good and has Great Punch , With the weight limit being taken away from the Coastal Rule Book this year its a Big Advantage running a light weight High power pack such as this q14

...........

When the Decorating is finished in the Dining Room I have bought a Large Glass Display Case where I am going to put my Trophys and I am going to put Last Years Cyclone WCE in there to as a Shelf Queen next to the 3 Trophys she won for me ( The Wife is not to sure about this well thats an understatment !!! But I think it will look good on a stand on an angle with the 3 trophys around it )

Time to get the Car ready for Next Weekend a quick check over should be all that is needed as it was in the last A Final Last week it went the quickest all day breaking all records with a Win in the 3rd A final Leg , wish I had found the problem I had in the first A Final quicker ( If I had it would have been a Win in the Second A Final for sure as the car was Faster than any other car on the day ) .....

With a few New bits coming from Nick at Demon this week the Car should be even Better ..............................

A short Quick update to my Blogg , well it all went wrong last weekend when I had finished Cleaning the car ready for this weekend I Plugged my New Lipo Pack in the wrong way round and YES you Guessed it it went BANG with a large puff of smoke q11

I was straight onto Mirage about my blown Matrix & with there great customer service as always they said send it back and they would try to repair or replce it for me under warrenty ................

I sent it back Monday by Special Delivery & as always they called me as soon as it arrived and they had checked it out on Tuesday It was Good News in a way and Bad news in another , First the Good They will send me a Brand New Replacment Matrix , The Bad News is they haven't got any at the moment , this left me unable to race on Sunday and with my main championship rival not attending I had to get the car running ......................

I was offered a Brand New TC ESC But I declined the offer as I did not want to borrow sombodys Spare ESC and Blow that up too , So I had to do some reasearch and Fast to find a replcment Cheap and more to the point FAST ..... as I had only 5 days left to find - buy - install - setup & Test the New ESC ..........

I found a Cheap But should be Good ESC in stock at a local hobby shop and bought in on the Wednesday , Installed on the Thursday (see below)

With it in the car and information gathered from around the Web it was off on Friday to the Track to set it up ...........

After about 20 or so different runs with different setups on the ESC it was sorted and I was VERY HAPPY with the 13.5 motor installed its going like a 10.5 similar to the speed Mark has had out of his 13.5 since he replaced his ESC , The one I have installed in my car I belive will be the only one running at Coastal (I have not seen one there befor) , its the timing adjustments which get the speed out of the motor you can here it coming down the straight with the timing wound right up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although having the Timing wound right up may not be the quickest q19

it takes some fidling to get the perfect ballence of Punch and Timing advance along with Break ballence to get it going FAST

Having got the ESC set there was a problem with the handling which I found to be down to the Shell which got Badly Bent and Creased from the last meeting when i got 8feet of air after hitting Merlo's Knob Flatout q11

So it was back off to the shop which sold me the ESC earlyer in the week for a new shell ( Damm its been an Expencive week ) ill post a pic of the New shell later when its finished Cut and Washed at the moment going off out to the workshop to get Spraying now ........................................

Another very short Blogg entry .........

Got a Team Drive with Schumacher for 2010 , The email arrived today offering me a Team Drive so I had to say Yes

Good discount on Parts and Free Clothing , I have signed on the dotted line and will drive Schumacher until October 2010

I must say I am supprised its a sort of proper contract i have signed so I am not allowed to drive my Hotbodies Buggy anymore q11

& as I can't afford a New Schumacher Buggy looks like it will be Touring cars only for the Next Year ..................

Although I can run the HotBodies 12th as Schumacher don't make a car in this class .....

I need an old Cat for the worn rubber series over the winter ...............

One thing is for surtain I made the right decision in moving over to the Mi4 Its great and last weekend I won the A final at Coastal up against some very good drivers
